Strengthening Early Learning Opportunities (SELO)
Our SELO programme is designed to elevate the quality of early learning services. We offer comprehensive support in two key areas: meeting licensing requirements and regionally allocated professional learning and development.
Our expert facilitators work closely with management and educators to enhance practices in governance, curriculum implementation, and operational effectiveness. By focusing on critical aspects such as strategic planning, leadership development, and the integration of Te Whāriki, we ensure that your service is well-equipped to provide high-quality education and care.
Cognition Education is on the SELO PLD Panel. For more information about funding visit the Ministry of Education website here.

Tailored Professional Development
We recognise that each early learning service has unique needs and contexts.
Our professional development offerings are flexibly designed to align with the National Education and Learning Priorities (NELPs).
We provide targeted support in creating inclusive learning environments, enhancing Te Whāriki delivery, building te reo and tikanga Māori capabilities, and developing strong leadership.
Our approach emphasises culturally responsive teaching, community engagement, and the integration of diverse perspectives.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your team’s capability in supporting learners with additional needs or aiming to deepen your understanding of early numeracy and literacy within the Te Whāriki framework, our tailored programmes are here to support your growth.
