Abstract
Using a range of technologies in education can support transformational education whether that is from the perspective of changing people’s thinking and opportunities for creativity (innovation) or related to the ways we learn, such as building collaborative approaches and skills. This paper illustrates some current trends in technology that can be considered when designing relevant and authentic learning. It considers more generic outcomes that are enabled when incorporating technologies, especially if innovation is desired. The challenges and benefits of including technologies in educational design are summarized.
